Believe the Opportunity
This Advent sermon launches a series called "A Party for a King," challenging listeners to genuinely believe God's promise that Christ is coming and His kingdom will be established. Using the imaginative scenario of hosting Elvis Presley in 1956, Pastor Tom Pace illustrates our natural skepticism when faced with extraordinary invitations. He emphasizes that hope is not wishful thinking but a deliberate choice to believe God's promises despite contrary evidence. This hope provides both a destination for our lives and conquers the apathy that keeps us from doing the necessary work of faith. The sermon calls believers to move beyond cynicism and embrace the prophetic vision that God will make all things right—ending oppression, bringing justice, and establishing endless peace through Christ's kingdom.
